The bike is a YZ426 2002. Went out for a ride on Saturday and the forks felt strange so investigated when I got home. Took the brake side fork appart and found that the spring guide that slides over the damping rod was crushed. I recently changed a front seal, does anyone know why this happened, if so what did I do wrong, thanks in advance. :)

Is the nut on the rod tight to the cap or the plastic guide? :) Hopefully I am understanding you correctly when you say the guide is crushed...
