Scotts oil filter

Can anyone helpme with this one, scotts metal oil filter only has a rubber seal
at one end, and previous yamaha filters have two. Am I stupid or is ther a simple explanation.

That's the way they are. There's no reason to have a seal on the inner end of the filter, since there's nothing to seal there. The OEM filters use it to press the element against the cover, and it allows a little less precision in manufacturing the "throwaway" elements.
