i recently purchased a 98 yz400 as some of you may be aware of, the one of many that would'nt idle properly but i have fixed. my question is what oil would you all recommend for a bike that makes no engine noises despite being 7 years old, but you have no idea what oil has been ran in it up to this point? thanx in advance for any input.

I've ran Motorex 10W50 and have had no problems.

I use Motul 10w40 and never had any problems. You will get long clutch life with this oil, from my experiance anyway. Good stuff.
