Edelbrock power gains

I finally bought a BRP. It's already uncorked and is in super shape. My question. Does the Edelbrock really make more power over stock or does it just run better?

If it runs better(more efficiency) there is more power to be had. From what I've read and heard the edelbrock makes starting and throttle response way better. I think it adds around 2-3 hp but I'm not positive. I'm getting one, eventually.
