My 1985 xr600r keeps loosing power all of a sudden. It will run good for a while and then at full throttle, the power will plateau. I am pretty sure that something is getting sucked up into the main jet, which is cutting off some of the fuel flow. Has anyone else had this problem?

my buddies '79 XL 250 had a similar issue. but he had a custom kevlar airbox, vesco fat skinny tank, and ran it without any air filter--did lots of miles vintage ice racing with the set up...in the end he never found the problem and bought a new bike.
