TEXDEZ... hey again.... your banged up pretty bad??? well i hope your feeling better .
Might have a group going this weekend to dove springs if your interested LMK...
Thornia...
Jawbone has got a little of everything from easy trails, a sand wash, easy hill climbs, high pucker factor hills climbs, some whoops, a basic plethora of riding enjoyment!
If you need it make sure you bring you own shade, none there... i noticed that they have permenant crappers now so no dropin trou next to the cacti....LOL
It will be the riding destination for a bit because the closer places to me (GORMAN ) got hammered by the rain...

When going to the dez.....I usually assume there is no shade. LOL I've got "red" in my blood.....I handle the sun pretty well.
Someday I'll make it to Jawbone. My girlfriend and her BF love it there and they've invited us to go about a million times.
I was talking to "Tex" about riding the other day. I had a ride-on bad.....but I had to pick up a friend from the airport. I ended up hearing a radio ad and went and looked at a car dealership for a new car. Kia Rio for $4,999. I HAD to look. They wanted money down....didn't fit in my plans to do that. I actually want a Serento....but I don't want to loose that much money trading in my truck. But....a super cheap car....between $79-$89 a month and 54 MPG, $5K car with a 100K warranty....and was already too late to even think about a ride.....HECK YEAH....I at least went and looked!!!!!!!!!
I didn't have time to sit and wheel and deal with them. Didn't want to give them a bunch of money down.....just backwards from what I was going for. I need something super cheap to pound miles on.

Summer is about the only time I have just for a joy ride weekend most of the time. I follow the race schedule.....doesn't leave much room for joy rides. This coming weekend is a GP.....gonna try the W race and the sidecar race. The ol man will be in Laughlin doing the Best in the Desert race. Next weekend....there's 2 days of racing in Lucerne....but the Saturday race I'm most likely gonna miss because my girls are going to Magic Mtn. with the Interact Club. I can't race *and* watch my 2 year old. My 10 year old doesn't make a good babysitter, yet. LOL If I leave my 13 y/o in charge....well....he'll get in plenty of TV time....and my 2 year old will have wandered off somewhere looking for food and a dry diaper. LOL
The 26-27 of March is my next free weekend. Most likely my ex will want to come visit the kids. He likes the ruin the entire weekend so he can sit for 20 minutes with the kids and pretend he's a good father for the year. I am hoping he flakes, as per usual.

Yeah....I kinda know what the terrain was like....just wanted a blow by blow about the actual ride. Being a voyer cuz I couldn't ride myself.....so I was trying to live vicariously through Tex! :) :) :p :D :D :o ;)

peace,
janette

thorina,

i don't have much of a ride re-cap, due to being a noob. i had two crashes - one that was big and spectacular, and i'm upset no one saw it!!! the other one, i just fell over in sand. i'm not fond of the sand cuz i'm not used to that out-of-control feeling, but at least it doesn't hurt to fall on it.

i am proud to say that my new bike looks "ridden" now!! the bigger crash was my first ever on my bike! its not a virgin anymore.... :)

it was also the first time i ever used my motojack rack and loaded my bike by myself. i hope that gets easier... :)

i just need to ride more and more and more!!

That would be awesome--but not legal, as I doubt I'm supposed to travel with my weapon into a state that doesn't recognize WA CCPs, and it seems I have read/heard that CA doesn't.

I wasn't a huge fan of Glocks until I shot their newish model 36--it's a compact, tiny little thing, .45 cal, 3.78" barrell, but how much fun to shoot! Mine is much heavier than that.

Place the pistol in a locked container, seperate the gun from ammo, and out of reach in the vehicle (trunk or additonal lock box) and you are good to go. There is a really good shooting place in Santa Clarita called " A place to shoot" http://www.aplacetoshoot.net/ where you can do anything from trap, 300yard long rifle, pistol steel plates, and whatever you want. They don't stand over your back while you shoot and pretty much let you do what you want, as long as it is safetly. I love that place!!!!

Hey Brenda,

We are all (Tammy's tribe included) going to spend the weekend at Clear Creek! You picked a bad weekend to come!! However, there is a possibility that they may be closed due to rain. If so, we can hook up for a ride.

Are we able too now get a glock36?? Last i remember they were for law enforcement for whatever reason.. Try a Glock30, Just a bigger grip that the 36, double stacked clip.. Holds 10rds of 45 ammo, nice gun..

I didn't think they were for law enforcement ... all i know about them is that I was visiting the gun range, and the owner said "Hey check this out, they just came in! Here's a full clip, give it a try!"
Maybe the rules are different in CA? I mean, I know they are about carry permits, maybe they also are about which guns are available to civilians too.

I'm going to be putting together a long ride for this weekend. Most likely a 100 miler. I've at least two other TTers interested. We probably won't know the area to well, but we will have maps and I'll remember to carry my GPS unit. Right now, I'm thinking somewhere east of the Randsburg area. Maybe stage at Randsburg or Red Mountain.

Cool! You guys be safe and have fun!
We plan to be out at Cuddybergs(the dry lake area) around Easter and Cal City the first of April.
Hopefully we will be able to hook up one of those times! :)
