My 14 year old daughter wears size 0 long jeans. Does anyone have a recommendation for size and/or manufacturer that will fit her well? Are we going to have to get her women specific gear to get them to fit properly? Thanks in advance for all the help.

I wear a 5 in jeans and sometimes a 3, just depends. Most of us here prefer the men's gear, it looks better and seems to fit better. I wear a men's 28 in the Shift Gear and it fit's well. (that was the smallest size they made). I have Women's Fox Gear in a 5, they are pretty much true in sizing but they don't look that good, baggy in the wrong places..... I would not worry about length so much since the pant is tucked into the boot anyway. Or does she want Freestyle Gear (Over the boot)??. Try Thor and FOX, see if they make men's gear in a size 24???..Youth sizing might be an option as well, but check the length on those.

I haven't tried any of the women's gear yet because I read in a description somewhere that the inseams are shorter and I'm pretty tall. If possible I'd have her try something on but if that isn't an option I wouldn't hesitate ordering something a little big because most have adjustable waistbands.

Thanks for the advice. We really don't have an option of trying on equipment, so we'll probably end up ordering and sending back for a different size if we don't get it right the first time. The problem is she's all legs and very skinny. We're also getting gear for my 12 year old daughter, and her size will be one size smaller, so maybe one of those two sizes will work for the older one. My wife said that my 14 year old's inseam is a 35 or 35.5, and her waist is a 24-25, so I'm afraid she's just going to have to put up with some bagginess to get a proper length. We'll see...

That's about the same as my inseam (but I'm a bit wider in the middle ;-) ) and as long as she wears inside the boot pants it really doesn't matter if they're too short. My pants would be too short if I were wearing them with sneakers, but inside my boots no one can tell.

So, what size would you recommend we order for her? I was thinking the 26, which is considered a youth size, but worried they'd be WAY too short. The other idea was to get a women's 3/4. What do you think?

I'm betting that youth and ladies pants (total assumption on my part because I've never seen either in person) would be about the same in length, with both being shorter than standard men's pants.

Actually the idea that just came to me is to call the retailer you are thinking of using (PM me for suggestions if you want) tell them your dilemma and ask for suggestions. They would probably have a better idea of which brands run small and long  Good luck!

Thanks for the suggestion. I called customer service at Fox, and found out that there is a big difference in the inseam length between a women's and youth size. The size 3 women's pant is a 26 waist with 29.5 inseam, while the 10-12 youth is also a 26 waist, but only a 22.5 inseam. It looks like the women's pant will be the way to go. Thanks for all the help!
