last weekend i raced my first indoor areancross race since 1986 on my WR. there was no vet class so i raced the open novice class against 25 punk kids. night 1 i failed to make the main event.i was leading my semi. i havent lead a race in a long time. i way over jumped a little double, and landed in the next corner with the brakes locked, stalling my bike. first to last in about 5 seconds. oh well. night 2 i won my semi and made it to the main event. i got a 4th place start, locked bars with the guy in 3rd, and he put me into the boards like Gordie Howe! 4th to dead last in 1 second! i had 8 laps to redeem myself as all my buddies were there this night to watch. funny thing about these young guys i was racing. they could all jump the big jumps, but when it came to cornering quickly, they were lost. i sliced my way under 6 riders by the end of the race(who says a WR doesnt turn?) with 1 of them getting me back on the last lap cause i was out of jam! i forgot how intense indoor racing was. there is no time to relax. everything happens so fast! i cant wait till the next one.

wow, that was cool! You're right bout the
turning, nobody practices that anymore
they all do jumps. those kids should
take a class from Jimmy Lewis. The whole
class was about making the turn.
congrats on your race!
