After a long debate she finally got the 250f yesterday for $4900. It's a little much for her right now but she loves it all the same. She is still trying to get the starting down but she is getting there. I got to ride it a little today and was very impressed with the power of the thing. Damn near the power of my DRZ and a heck of alot stiffer. Rode around the track a little and it handle quite well. I'm not much on jumping but I think could handle most anything with aplaumb. She came off of a TT125L so it's going to take her some getting used to but once she does...I think she'll wonder why she waited so long to buy one.

I am with you ScottF......it is very hard to find a female that will ride dirtbikes, but when you do find one it is a awesome experience.

Yeah right! Do you know what happens when the girl loves to ride as much as you do? If her bike is broken, YOU CAN'T RIDE until her bike is fixed.

I made the mistake of getting on her TTR125L and broke the rear rim, hub, and spokes trying to jump a 50 foot tabletop (don't do it a stock suspension ttr125L). I wound't dare go riding when she has to wait for her parts to get in. What's worse...the moron that took my order sent me rims for the smaller TTR125 model.

nag nag nag....

Was the $4900 drive out price for the YZ250F? That seems like a great deal. Where did you purchase it?

Westladog, you are right - they can be a pain in the @$$! . When my just/x-wife started riding I broke her into trail bike riding by climbing mud hills in NGeorgia on a wet weekend in wet Red Clay! You should have heard the yelling, but it worked & she soon learned that by holding that throttle open with good body position she could climb those massive clay hills on her xr200. Of course after I carried it up several times before - but it was always worth the effort for me. But this turned into a confidence booster for bigger & better things - that soon turned to a RM125 & later a 2000YZ125 on many a motocross track. Yea she crashed hard a couple of times breaking collarbone & bruising other body parts. But she was determined! as we all are to keep going, never give up. Hell she was faster than many of the guys out there! I thought & hoped this year to get her to Loretta Lynn's in the ladies class - she had the talent & drive. Unfortunately, she decided I was not her "soul Mate" last June & we split up with her taking her YZ125 & XR200...after 6 glorious fun filled years.....you know, I miss riding with her even now & hope that she continues down the dirt road/track, although I never see her. Yea! they can be a pain in the @$$! But I will forever cherish the memories of following that ass up some of those trails & watching her jump doubles beside me...women riders are what we need more of in this sport! I respect any woman that wants to take the time to dress the part & get muddy in the trails or roost on the tracks! I hope that my next relationship is capable of this - there is nothing better than to see the look on your buddies face or someone new at the track when your wife/girlfriend suits up, kicks the bike over & is ready to roost!

PB: I got the bike for $4999 from Barwell Yamaha in Brookhaven, MS.

Ga426owner: Thanks for the boost for female riders. I raced BMX before transferring to a dirt bike. My first was a TTR125L. I'm now on the YZ250F and the bike is awesome. I like to trail ride and ride motocross tracks.

Brian400: Thanks for boosting your sis. Got to love your big brother!

It took my wife 8 years to talk me into Getting a bike. She is way into it. I thank her for nagging me about it often. Just wish I had jumped sooner. Now if she could just learn to fix the bikes, that would be great.
