For those of you that didnt go.....welllllllll
:)

You missed two key things...
1. Awesome ride with fellow TTr's and
2. Wet and Snow!

Awesome ride....
PLammer, Brian, HR and HR Jr hooked up this morning at Belfair....and rode until we all had stump feet and monkey butt!.

Thats not Snow on PLammer and Brian, its uhhhh something on the lens of my camera....yeah thats it....on the camera

Weather was actually real good for this time of year....drive out was a bit icy in spots...but hey nothing was going to stop us!...
It hovered around 35...but we all had enough wet weather stuff on to look like Rolling Pillsbury Dough Riders...well at least I did!...
I do know something though....these WR250f are like incredibly waterproof....water over the gas tank was the rule rather than the exception....!
Some good crashes....HR Jr tried to start his ride after a quick stop...only problem was he was on a slope and his rain pants hooked over the kick start lever on the kick down!! :D :D :D
well.....down he went....DOWN HILL!....we we all laughing pretty hard...he just layed there in the mud and all....then we realized why he wasnt moving....his right boot was sticking UP...from under the frame!...OOOOPS....he was pinned!
sigh....
twas all good....although PLammer kept telling us we hadnt ridden any distance at all.....he said only 11 miles....but it was a ton more....
then at the next quick "thaw stop"...HR noticed that PLammer's Odo cable was plugged into his carb....said he meant to do that....had his pumper carb linked to certain speeds to give him and extra squirt of fuel!...yeah right :D
11 miles....gotcha uh huh!...

all in all...awesome ride...awesome TTrs!...
and PLammer...with the hit that your machine has with the needle and the DrD pipe you have got to at least try the YYZ timing!...
OMG!!!!!
and...those tires....felt like I was on Rail Road tracks!....chucking those stock ones......and now my Berg and my WR will have Michelins...SWEEEEET!

ITs all good! (no great!)

HR

Looks like a lovely Belfair day! I should have gone. If i could have dug myself out of the 10" of snow we got here, i was considering showing up after all. Hopefully i can make it next time. Let me know when you guys do it again.

I think you guys are tough. At least your body wont overheat in those conditions. Does the bike run cooler? I guess it would.

Is the mud there as slippery as the Hawaii mud?

Show some riding photos.

One of our guys did a ride in WA a couple of months ago. He said it was really nice. Well groomed trails. Mostly 3,4,5 gear stuff. You know how our riding is. 1 and 2 most of the time.

I love crashing!

No actually where this is in way western Washington, its best when set, its not slippery at all....go figure....he wasnt where we were if he was in 5th...or even 4th....insane 3d maybe, but your name is Watts....trails are very well maintained...that is a for sure....and the photos...well....there were two in the first message, and if they didnt load, click on over to my web site...and hit the Washington page...they are there at least post ride....

But it was kind of cold, and no not the Mililani 65 degrees freeze your butt off cold (cause it is 82 degrees EVERY DAY :D )
....we are talking....I dont know if I shifted cause I dont know if I have my foot anymore...cold :D
If you pop over this way let us know and we will hook you up!....take you onto the trails!...

Thanks for posting the pictures HR, they turned out better than I thought. Though, I look more tired than I remembered being.

Yeah, it was a great ride. After that ride, I'm pretty sure I'll be getting grip warmers. My cold hands are my only complaint about the ride.

In answer to the skid plate question, mine is either a Moose or MSR plate, I can't remember for sure. I'll try to dig up the receipt and see. Not sure what Brian's is, I'll try to find that out too and post it too. I highly recommend getting one. At one point in the ride, I managed to case the thing for the first time when I was screwing around. I've heard many rocks nail that thing. Judging from the sound, likely I would have sustained damage if I hadn't had the plate.

HR, on your YZ timing suggestion: I keep debating. As far as trail use, I'm not sure if I could handle it being more snappy than it currently is. On the other hand, at my last super TT I was frustrated at having a bike that was identical to Corey's in acceleration (pre needle and DRD addition), I'll likely do the YZ timing just for that reason. We'll see...
