if anyone knows what redline(maximum rpm) is for a 98 yz400, i would like any info you have. at a higher rpm, (not what i would consider to be redline), it is either cutting out, or hitting the rev limiter. i'm pretty sure it's the rev limiter, but i wanted some info on the max. rpm, incase i do have a problem. thanx

What are you going to do with the number? Learn how to ride a four stroke and stop screaming it. Jeez, no wonder so many people have valve issues...

thank you also FZ1426, you helped me remember why i don't use these interactive websites that often. because strokes like you sit around getting a kick out of being an a**hole on 'em. there was an icon that i immediately thought of after reading your reply, and i was going to use it as part of mine, but i see that tt doesn't offer it. too bad. a genuine thanx to everyone that takes this website seriously.

Yup it is a learning process if youve come from 2smokes all your life and now you have a bike that likes short shifting. I have a little easier time at it than some i think because i had a 2smoke that had a lot of low end power 87 KX 250 was like a tractor and im light 165 lbs, but any how i love the way my 426 makes so much power at low RPMs. :) :)
