HELP!!! White Bros e Series exhaust disc question???

Yep, more discs = more air flow = louder pipe

Less discs = less air flow = quiter pipe.

You may want to rejet if you run all the disks. If you dont want to rejet, keep it closer to stock setting IE 4 discs. Thats if you havent rejetted already. ?

I've been running 12 discs on my XR600 for over a year now with stock jetting and it runs great with no problems, and it is loud, but I am riding at private riding areas where there are no neighbors and noise is not an issue. And now is when I get all of the S**t for running a loud bike. I understand that noise is a big issue all over the country, but as long as I am riding private areas that are built and run for bikes and ATV's and the owners do not have a problem with noise, I will run a loud pipe. As soon as it becomes ann issue anywhere I ride, I will cut down the noise level, and play by the rules. Good luck, Walt ?

I had the E-series Pro Meg for 1 day and sold it on e-bay. It was noticeably louder than the stock pipe with HRC tip with less power on the low end and too loud to test the mid to top although my initial impression was that it made less power. Keep in mind that I did not re jet for it but my bike is jetted for the HRC tip and I seldom need to choke it during cold starts. (plenty rich) It had 12 discs. It was pretty though.

I curretnly run no disks with just the turn down style endcap and its almost as loud as those pos harleys. ? I am gonna go back to the disks though since I think I lost some top end speed. The only reason I took the disks off was because it was melting my turn signal. ? Now i dont keep my turn signals on when i go offroad but it would melt it when I put it back on. Does the heat sheild they have prevent this from happening? ?

Misfit. I have the 180 shield on mine and have an extra 1 1/2" deflecter rivited to the WB shield and it works great. I have gone to flush mount blinkers so they are not an issue but my white rear fender is still white which is nice. I will take some pics if you want. The WB shield is only 1/2" - 3/4" so most of the disks are not covered. and will not help you much depending on the number of disks you run. If the disks extend past the shield it no worky.

You "should" run disks in there to create a some back pressure because that helps with low end torque and top speed. You'll need to be dumping lots of fuel in the cylinder to keep up with that open pipe.

Yes, the heat shield does work. Personally, I think Supertrapp has the best design for the disc system with their IDS2 pipes. They have either a race or quiet core, and all the discs are deep inside the silencer behind the end cap. No black stains or melted plastics.

Even if there were no noise restrictions, loud pipes wear on you the rider as well. Ear plugs are almost mandatory so your head doesn't hurt from riding, let alone to keep from damaging your hearing. ? My $0.02.

:o THANK YOU HAYDEN!!! ? You just saved Roy (HondaXR650L) some $$$ for not having to buy disks!!! ? We got his fully uncorked 02 XR650L dialed-in as well as quieted-down a little by going with 9 disks and his jetting is the dynojet kit from bajadesigns.com with DJ165 main jet installed. ?

? His bike is running worlds better than ever now! :D
