Mike,

YES on the airbox.

Bill,

It has been a tough couple of weeks. This week I am in fire (fighter) training. I am drinking a couple of gallons of water/gatoraid a day TRYING to stay hydrated. We do wear full turnout gear w/ air packs going into burning bldgs...in 105F heat. I am so drained by the end of the day I just sit in the AC and try and get my heart rate to <75bpm.

I start midnight shift Friday night. Look for a call (both of you) on Saturday/Sunday evening.

Kevin-

I'm going to have to pass for now on the airbox. I've got a line on a barely used one for $100 cheaper -once the CR450F comes out ? next month.

From talking to you the other night, I truly believe the loss of compression from the scored cylinder is causing your problem. Your bike just didn't seem to have a the THUMP THUMP the WR is famous for. With the jetting and other setup items you have on the bike, it should SCREAM! If a compression check passes, well then I'm not sure what the &%^#( could be wrong

Also, I noticed how different your pipe sounded from 1.) Everyone else WR that day and 2.) Any other WR/YZ I've ever heard!

Just wonder if some packing didn't blow out or if the pipe is defective in some way.

Just an observation.

Good luck if you do decide to relocate to WI, let me know if I can be of any help.

Mike,

I agree on the compression being most likely the key to all these problems.

I also agree on the silencer. I do believe the packing is blown. I am heading to Brockton Cycle in Massachusettes, just south of Boston, on Monday. I am getting some riding gear for my kids, some pants(?) for myself (the crash on the SX track in PA did in the left knee) and some muffler packing.

I don't think I have ever seen the amount of riding gear anywhere that Brockton has to offer.

Thanks Mike for your input!!
