Radiator Supports

Recommended Posts

I just put on the radiator supports I got from works connection on my 650R. Right side is good. Left side rubs the radiator hose. This cant be good. Im picturing myself 100 miles from nowhere with a hole in the radiator hose. Think Ill take the left side to work and slot the mounting holes and do some rebending.

There's definitely some inconsistancy in the fit of these things (maybe a tooling change, different brake operators, design change, etc). Mine fit well with no rubbing and are a few years old, but your not the first person to mention fitment issues with this product.

stick it in a vice and bend it so it clears the hose.

mine was off slightly and all it took was creating a little gap between the brace and the hose.

I also have Devols in addition to W/C on another 650r. I had to bend & cut my Devols to fit where as my W/C bolted right up without issues. The Devols also rerquired me to cut/modify the plastic fins on the front to make them work and this was also true for my CR250, which also has Devols.

I just installed some Devols tonight - pretty much cover the whole radiator:

I think I'll swing by the hardware store and get a 5mm longer bolt for the upper mounts and a 10 mm longer bolt and a spacer of some sort for the bottom of each one. The bolts in the package for the upper mounts are too short (same length as stock) as they barely catch the threads on the frame. My right side guard fit nice but the left guard was kinda of a bear to fit ? . I am also going to trim a piece of an old rim strap to put between the guards and the tanks of the radiators since the guard contacts the tank on both sides, top and bottom. Had to trim a bit of plastic on both shrouds to get a decent fit - no biggie.
