19" wheel?

why do the yz's use a 19" wheel and the wr"s an 18""er?

A 110/90x19 and a 110/100x18 are about the same outside diameter and tread width. The difference is that the 19 is lighter and holds its shape in a hard corner better, an advantage for MX, and the 18 is taller measured from bead to tread, which helps an off-road bike avoid flatting out in the rocks and such due to slamming the rims against the ground and pinching the tube through. :cry:
