If your going to go as far as changing the seals you might as well take out the bearings too. You may be able to just clean, inspect ,grease and reasemble.
While your at it do the same for your linkage. If the bearings are pitted or damaged in anyway, replace them.
I bought pivot works swing arm bearings on e-bay for 10.00 bucks.

That was a nice write-up, thanks for posting.
As Bamster stated, have a look at them. The linkage bearings in my 00' were absolutely obliterated and in severe need of replacing. I replaced all of them just for piece of mind, and that is something you cannot put a price on.

I recommend you just change them out as well as the seals on linkage and swingarm. Pivot Works has real good kits that are cheap and complete. Forget about using a hammer. I do mine once a year and a hydraulic press is the only way to do this right. Save yourself the hours of pounding!

I have a Motion Pro swingarm bearing $99.00 I ever spent. Bearings out and back in in minutes.

Bonzai
