Grease on linkage bolts (or lack there of)

I've read on here somewhere that the bolts for the linkage need to be greased immediatly when you get the bike. I just did mine (about 15 total hours on the bike) and found they were all dry. I also did the swingarm bolt and the brake lever bolt. The swingarm bolt was the only one with even a hint of grease on it. If you haven't done it already, better do it before it's too late. Also, I've had both my axles off and they did have grease on them so I just assumed the links did too. Never assume.

Never mind the linkage bolts. Check the bearings for grease! Yamaha tends to lack in the department of grease.

Yeah they skimp on the cheapist stuff. The first thing I do when I get a new bike is tear it down and go over everything. They put hardly any grease on any of it. Just enough to keep it from rusting on the showroom floor.

Wyatt I find the "maintenance free dry lube" works pretty good........at least for the first year ...the lube or lack of lube on the bearings....that is another story! ?

Great bit of advice. I found out the hard way on a CR250 when the linkage snapped and also bent the shock!!!gutted
