Dual sport mirrors

What is the best folding dual sport mirror? I looked at the acerbis mirror at rockymountain mc and they are all plastic even the mount. Anyone have a favorite? Thanks in advance, H-2

Well, I can't tell you what's best. I can tell you that I have the Acerbie mirrors for the left and right. They look OK and it helped for getting my bike signed off so that's worth something but I have yet to see anything behind me so far! Can you say sketchy??? ?

I like the Ken-Sean dual sport universal mirrors. They don't vibrate too badly even at speed and they can fold down to be pretty much out of the way. They're $12.99 from Dennis Kirk or $10.99 from Parker Yamaha and I believe the TT store sells them (price match ? ).

To use these mirrors, you'll need to get a mount such as the "44-0044" which is made by AH. MacLaughlins Four Strokes Only. You can see this mount as item #3 at this link http://www.fourstrokesonly.com/Mirrors2.html The ThumperTalk store also sells this exact mount at a discount ?

In fact, if you click on the TT store, then click on 'part number search' on the left column, you can input the following part numbers for these parts to get prices. The mirrors from TT/WhiteBrothers are either made by Ken-Sean or they're a close copy of them.

I also have the Acerbis mirror. It is very durable, even though it is plastic. I only got it so I could get my plate. Only problem with it is, it's too small and short to see anything but your arm and chest. It is useless on the road, but folds up nicely on the trail.

I liked the Dual Star mirror as well, but the cop who stopped me didn't and gave me a quick lecture about using non-DOT equipment. I also couldn't see squat from my Dual Star mirror where as I could see a bit more with the Ken-Sean mirrors. There's no doubt the Dual Stars look the best.

my acerbis mirror is alright on the street , but vibrates like crazy on the freeway ..

my buddy has the exact same acerbis mirror , but his is ALUMINUM .. i cant find another one like it ! lol what gives !

I have the Accerbis mirror also and agree that all that you can see is your arm and chest. The main problem that I have with mine is that the mirror glass fell out, I am gussing that it fell out when I hit the root wrong and hit the ground. Well that is when I noticed it, it was there before the ride and on the way home I put it up to be legal and it was gone ? I hope that you have better luck with it than I did

Hate to hear you guys only seeing your chests and arms through those things (unless you're 90% dirt). Maybe I'm getting old and turning into my old man, but I like the safe side of knowing what's behind me. Too many people riding my ass on the streets these days, just to have the bike look cool with a lower profile mirror...My $0.02 of course. ?

If you mount the dual-star's as close to your grip as possible, usually next to the switch gear, you can see just fine behind you if you slightly move your arm (at least on a XR650L and ATK 605).
