05 WR left rear # plate

Recommended Posts

Anyone know if it will fit the '04? I cut out the handle on my 04's plate, but it's not as nice as the 05' would be. After comparing the pics on the Yamaha webpage they appear to be the same except for the hole.

I'm also interested to see if the fork guards would fit as I'm planning on switching to a braided front brake line w/ "CR" routing.

My advice to you is to use the search function in the YZ/WR250 forum & then if you are uncertain, or unable to find anything, post a specific question in your own thread. ?

Better yet, go to------------> ThumperFaq for all of your questions to be answered. Now back to the thread at hand.

I have a '04 and was wondering the same thing, if the '05 plate will fit. We tried to get this answered a while back but nothing happened. SOMEONE has to know!!! ?

I don't know about the side panel but I do know for a fact the 05 guards will not work. I was planning on doing this upgrade on my '03 but the guards are completely different. The best route here would be to go with an aftermarket (which is what I will be doing.)

Yeah, as far as the fork protectors go, I was thinking I'll probably go aftermarket as well. I know there are kits that include the braided line, & the guards... I just need to research which one is the best bang for the $.

SpeedBlitz, thanks for that link, I remember that thread. I guess I'll just have to order one & see how it goes. I wonder if GYTR is doing them in blue yet... ?

MTRABlue, where'd you guys ride? Have you ever been to a place up near Fulton? A guy I know with a Quad was telling me about it a few weeks ago, & I had never heard of it. We definitely have to hook-up & ride sometime.

As for the "kit" thing, I'm 99% sure I saw several aftermarket kits including the braided line & a set of fork guards with the necessary clamp for the WR, I seem to remember seeing one setup w/ CF guards, & one with white plastic ones, but of course I can't remember. Will have to do more searching. I know what you're talking about w/ the Ride Engineering stuff, it is very nice, but seems a bit pricey... I'll post any results if I find the elusive "kits".

Kinda off topic but the ride engineering lines are worth every penny and believe it or not, was cheaper than an OEM line... at least when i priced them out for my 04... I would like to get some 05 fork guards also, just to have the new OE brake line clamp... and since I have no ODO anymore, the YZ parts would look nicer without that clamping mechanism on the right side...

the kit looks nice. did you check to see if it would fit a wr? we have a longer brake line to fit over the light. yz only stuff won't work.

treebark and i only went to st. joe park. it was only about 18 degrees. i don't think either of us were up to any more drive time than that. i've heard good things about fulton also but haven't been yet.

I checked out the lightspeed website & they had the same part # for the line regardless if it was YZ or WR, so hopefully it is plenty long.

You ever been to Coyote ATV Trailriders in Coulterville, IL? Wnt there about a month or so ago, it's a little place but I like that it has a one-way looped woods trail with some decent small jumps.
