xr650r top speed uncorked?

I am wondering what the top speed of the xr650r uncorked is with stock gearing? I have heard 100 mph but I havent been able to get close to that at 5000 feet altitude;) please chime in! H-2 :cry:

I have an uncorked 2003 bike with an Edelbrock carb and an E-series pipe.

I did a race at 5000ft with 14/45 gearing and 50 degrees F, with a slight headwind.

I was clocked on a dirt/gravel/chip road in the tucked position at 104 MPH.

Uncorked and rejetted, the bike should do 100 in the tucked position on flat ground w/stock gearing.
I've never had the chance to try top speed at high altitude though. I ride at 650' or below most of the year. But I have noticed that at high altitudes above 5000', even jetted correctly or close, the bike feels a lot less powerful.

If you do the math it should do 99.7 miles an hour at 8,200 rpm (That is when the rev limiter kicks in) with the stock tire. With a taller tire like the IRC M5B I have reach 102.3 and hit the rev. limiter, using a GPS.

You guys are the real men :cry: all I know is that my bike will go faster than I am comfortable with and it ain't close to the numbers posted above.

With a full tank (3.2 gal) going with the direction of the wind, at an altitude of about 2,300, on a monster lakebed, uncorked with a pro-circuit pipe, 14/47-->103-104 on a gps, 97-99 against the wind.

Damn Stolidog had you of farted you could've broke 100 :cry: I've hit 98 with stock gearing on a dirtroad. Immediately after realizing that was too fast I hit a patch of knats. Those lil black bugs. Couldn't see squat for like 10 feet afterwards. Got floss!?

Do not know how accurate his gun was but a CHP radared me at 94 :cry: and I had some to go with stock gearing. Nice guy that he was he only wrote me up for 10 over!

I live at 7000 ft altitude. My xr650r has the power up kit, and has the 175 main jet. Yeah, its rich as hell up here, and frankly, the power is simply not impressive. HOWEVER, I recently took the bike to Las Vegas (1500 ft altitude) and HOLY $#!^ DID THAT THING HAUL @$$ !!!!! That being said, I have topped out at over 100 mph with 15/48 gearing here at 7000 ft.

Ouch! Just for that I am going to go ask my wife to see if I can have my nuts back long enough to go out and see just how fast my bike will go with the 15-48 gearing. Honey............

Dude! You're running a 175 main at 7000'! Well yeah thats rich alright ! Try dropping to a 160 or 165 man, and open up the airbox with the holes. Should help, but not cure, the lack of power at high alt. I don't really know how, and not sure it's even possible, to make the bikes run as well at high altitudes as they do at less than 1000'. They really haul at low alt.
oh yeah, and as far as needing balls to ride the bike fast, well it's not that bad really, it's very stable. There does seem to be a crossover point though, at about 70mph, where you think, should I back off or just go for it. Well ya know just go for it! Hold it wide open and tuck down and hang on, it's a great ride!

my 85 XR600 would do about 93 or so. stock gearing, opened up air box, very leaky supertrapp.

i gotta think a 650R oughta do better than that.

does he not have the nuts, is he honest, or is he smart? i COULD say that i did 120 on my ttr-125 uncorked, but i dont think ive touched 60...
maybe he is smart and doesnt want his parts smeared accross the highway when you hit a bump in the road or something at 100+. or maybe he is *****, but i believe hes just a smart guy

15/47 gearing. FMF TI-4 pipe and FMF powerbomb headers (increasing top end). In the washes in Ocatillo a fellow rider with GPS was doing 94 and he said I was pulling away really fast. Probably had to be in the 105+ range and I wasn't even pinning it :cry: :cry: . Even with a stabalizer I had a ton of headshake and I was about to piss myself. :cry: Love this bike!

180km/h odd with a full Acerbis 23l tank.....15 tooth front and 38 rear...68s,175.....on a flat road with no wind.....!!!!!!!!!!!!!..........

Its now running a 155 main jet, a leaner needle, and has a Jardine rt-4 exhuast sytem instaled. The bike is still no where near its 1500 ft elevation level performance. It feels like an xr400 up at 7000 feet. The difference in performance with the jetting change is simply not worth the 55 bucks I spent on the fmf jetting kit. But now, I HAVE to rejet when I take it down to sea level or there abouts, or I will burn it up. Next time I take it to sea level, and rejet back to the 175, I wont bother changing it back to the 155 when I return to 7000 feet.

clocked in at 100mph yesterday , running 15/45 combo
could have got 105 i recon
