those numbers look a little low, it didnt say anything about the throttle stop cut on the website so i guess they didnt do that

"Braindamage" suits you right...... cause you must be braindamaged if you believe that crap. A little low, hell thats wayyyy low. i wish i magically gained 10 hp from the airbox lid removed and uncorked.

Hey - give him a break, I am glad he brought attention to it here.
I think those numbers should be pretty close - but I bet the 22hp comes from airbox, throttle stop, and exhaust plug removal. I couldn't lift the front wheel in first gear before I did the basic mods.
The YZ250F peaks around 27 HP. Take the 24HP base, add YZ timing and ignition remap wire cut and 27HP is certainly believable.

the yz250f peaks more around 34 hp according to dirtbike magazine and i dont think that there would be a loss of 10 hp just from diff timing and a grey wire but im no expert so i could be wrong

The best HP mod I did on my WR 250 was the 400 mod. Thats when you buy a used WR 400 for 2 grand less cause the 250s all sold out!
. Wow what a differance in HP. Like I said, not only did it not cost me any money, it saved me 2K! hehehe,
, Sorry I am boared off my you know what.

according to the may 2001 issue of dirtbike magazine on P.72 where they have the pipe shootout it shows peak horsepower stock is 34.1 @ 10,600 RPM

Dirtbike magazine said the WR250F, "pulled strong throughout the RPM range, but had especially strong low and midrange power." (or something very similar to that). Why would you believe anything they write?
And other than bragging rights, who cares what the dynos say? If you think the bike has plenty of power, it does, regardless of what you read. Similarly, if you think it ran like crap before the grey wire modification, it did, regardless of what the magazines say.

Dirt Bike (and everyone else) tested bikes at Randy Hawkins' place. Bikes that were prepared and broken in by a very knowledgable and talented factory supported rider. Do you think that the grey wire was intact for the test?? I think not.

At the rear wheel or at the crank?
Dirt Rider in Feb posted dyno runs that showed the peak to be 28 HP. It just goes to show you that everything is relative.
Like someone said - it really doesn't matter. I didn't buy this bike for massive HP - I bought it to ride. I loose every bench race, but I do pretty well on the trail.

with those numbers ,yes they did throttle mod,you can a see 10hp increase to 34hp with yz camtiming greywiremod and pipe swap to aftermarket now you know where the money went also try a K&N airfilter they really flow a lot of air and help bring more low power as well as improve all over power, after adding yosh pipe this filter helped bring more lowend back.also flatland racing will give combo and package deals on odo spacers, rad guards, and skidplates savings of 10 to 20 dollars depending on what you order.
