Is anyone running a WR250F at 8,000 to 10,000 feet at temp. range 60 to 70 degrees? What are your jetting specs?? I have a stock WR with all the mods WR timing and stock pipe. Would like jetting suggestions for the above elevation and temp.
Thanks.

I have a Excel spredsheet that someone on the board built that I am using. I live at 5000 but often ride at higher elevations. Email me at chaco0@yahoo.com and I will get it from home.

I wrote that spreadsheet and have made improvements. Email me at mikeolichney@hotmail.com for the latest version. I have a WR250F that I ride in CO at elevations of 5000 to 12000 ft, temps of 60-90 F. Mine is YZ timed, grey wire mod, no airbox lid, DrD pipe, of course no throttle stop. For some reason it likes a 45 pilot, up from the stock 42 (My YZ426 likes a 40 pilot, down from a 42, you got me why this is, maybe the pipe). Typically I run a 175 main, stock needle in position 2, 45 pilot, fuel screw 1-2 turns out, depending on conditions. It backfires on long downhills with engine braking but increasing the fuel screw does not help. Runs good otherwise.

mike,
i'm getting the pops too now. 700 ft. i've even gone up to 2.0 turns out on the fuel screw to no avail. i may go up to a 45 after this next race.

A poping exhaust while deaccelerating can also be caused by a very small exhaust leak where the header pipe seals to the head. These leaks can be so slight that they cannot be heard.

Thanks FFTX, I will try reseating my exhaust pipe. Sunruh, you have a DrD too, right?

mike,
yep and i LOVE it!
i really don't think it is a sealing problem. could be, but i seriously doubt it. after the race next weekend i'm gonna try and get a 45 pilot jet and try that. i'm not very concerned about the poping. just something i've notice since the new pipe and hot weather. no matter what, i can't give up ANY of my dead engine starting capabilities. right now it is one of the few advatages i have over the big bores (426F,520mxc) in my class. i get a *HUGE* kick out of beating the pants off of the guys with electric start.
