I'm a newbie to 4 strokes. Had my 05 450 for about a  month. The hose that goes from the radiator to the engine on the right side is about 1/2" away from the exhaust pipe. The exhaust pipe stays red most of the time. I was wondering if I need to put some type of protection wrap or something around the hose to keep the heat off of it. It just doesn't seem smart to let your cool coolant get hot before it enters your engine.
