A while ago, TT'er Sir Thumpalot posted a tale of having used a squirrel cage fan to dry air filters. I finally sent my son on an archeological mission in the garage to retrieve the fan unit out of our old oven hood which, like everything else, I had hung on to for no apparent reason.

He fished it out, we plugged it in and stuck the freshly washed and shaken out filter from his 250F on the intake port, where, just as Thump had predicted, it stuck because of the vacuum. We came back after dinner on a cool November evening and everything except the sealing face was dry. Forty minutes or less.

Pretty damn cool.

Just be sure to keep the dust down while it's on the dryer.

I just set mine on top of the fan outlet of the houses airconditioner. 5 minutes of warm air blowing past them and they are ready to go.

That would work if I had one. Not many air conditioners in San Diego County, though.

If the state itself wasn't so beautiful, and the weather so damn near perfect, there would be no reason to live here, believe me.

It does get hot around here but it is dry heat so there is alot of swamp coolers. They are cheaper to run by far.
