o.k. so nobody has any info on metzler,what about the tenmaster trelleborg or the super enduro t-913??? the search for the perfect tire continues,the maxxis IT is great but lacks traction when the goin gets muddy! ? neat thing is they mak'em in a 140/80-18 ? and also two different plys HD and "light" i'm trying to figure out how many plys they are but they are in england so must wait on email! ?

try either tenmaster or supermaster...the widest are 120, but must consider that 120 trelleborg measures as wide as michelin's 140

My WR450 is on it's second set of Trelleborg tires. They are the best tires I have used for GNCC style riding (mud,woods, open and hill climbs). They have become my tire of choice for their preformance in the mud. They are availabe in both a 6-Ply (red stripe) or 4-Ply (green stripe). The green stripe seems to hook me up a little better in the mud and slicker hills.

I was recommended these tires and purchased them from Don at www.woodsblaster.com ?

just ordered a set from w.e.r. tenmaster rear(red)120/90 and maxi grip front (red) indy_wr450 had a bad experience with the side knobs ripping off his maxi grip about ayear ago so i called back to cancel the front and they assured me they had changed the compound and it was no longer an issue? we'll see goin to the rock garden at brown mtn. sun.,if it makes a days ride there it should be worthy. i was told they excel in wet muddy rocky terrain and that is where my maxxis signs off. i just hope they're not to heavy. ?

How much do they cost? I tried the M12's and they do have better traction than Maxxis IT(6001) but they aren't going to last as long.

$89 rear $67 front kinda pricey but supposedly worth it ? indy said the back lasted a good long time and kept traction through its wear cycle,so if they fixed the front they should work well! ?

That is pricey, keep us posted. I have a few more rides on the M12. I will most likely need a tire before the end of the month.

ups man just dropped off the trelleborgs.if they work as good as they look(and smell) they should do the trick they are about the same weight as the maxxis IT ,so thats cool. and the footprint is flat and wide.will get'em on this week for ridin' on sunday,and report back ? :cry:

well i put on the ten-master and the maxi-grip today,and a good day for a test it was!! its rained for two days here and the ground is saturated. so i set the pressure at 16 frnt and 14 rear and embarked on my mudslingin' mission. holy crap it was like ridin' a roto-tiller(my wife is gonna kick my ? for what i did to the yard!) where the old maxxis IT would just spin this thing just dug and cleaned itself out nicely. the front is just as amazing,i could cut a turn on mud! couldn't do that with the IT! they seem to work well on gravel and sand also,have yet to try on any pure rock. if it works as good on rock as they say it does than it will be my perfect tire for the eastern woods!! they are the 6 ply and after weighing them together(f/r) side by side with the maxxis they are a pound and 1/2 lighter (the maxxis weighed 24lbs/trelleborg 22.5lbs)and they are just as HD as the maxxis. all we have to see now if the front holds together in rocks. ? :cry: ?

i'll gladly pay twice as much if it works twice as good! and in the mud it certainly does!!! ? its supposed to last a good long time and grip t'ill its wore out. i've never rode a tire like it,they tell me the s-12 is as good in the mud but lacks the intermediate traction. this thing seems to grip on everything! have yet to see about rocks yet ?

I think the S12's are tougher in the rocks then the Trelleborgs. We will see how they hold up long term. Especially that front tire with side knobs that flex a lot. ?

So, you had long 2 years to test trelleborgs, I'm mostly curious for the tenmasters and stone gripping-prefferably wet and in clay polished mud.

well i certainly can remember that the front maxi-grip was crap on wet rock(wrecked 5 times on 1 ride because of that tire) the tenmasters rr was awesome. after those i tried maxxis SI's they were good but the front was kinda weak walled and the back wore out quickly,then i tried bridgestone ED11/12 combo enduro tires 6 ply and they work well everywhere,the back had a little more bite on roots and muddy rock but was almost 2 lbs heavier and had way too much braking grip(it was like throwing a parachute,you couldn't brakeslide the rr if ya tried) so i now run the ED11 frnt and tenmasters 120 grn stripe(the grn stripe is the 4 ply,its lighter and gives more traction because its more compliant;and it still retains good sidewall strength) i don't think i'll be changing this combo:thumbsup: to answer the wet clay ? the tenmasters is the best on clay and almost as good (compared to the ED12,or anything else i've tried) on wet roots and rocks.

Hi Mountain,

After fitting a Dunlop 952 & being pretty disappointed in the fronts performance. (Sliding out under cornering) I decided to try these new brand Oz designed tyres & put the front on & tested last weekend. Sliding out is gone now & it really gives me confidence now to go even harder into corners. I fitted the Tracula (The names a bit so so!) which is their most agressive pattern which suits the sandy conditions I ride in. Being natural rubber should also help in being sticky when the going gets tuff too. I believe that Motoz are available in the US & at US$95.00 may be fairly expensive but time will tell how good they are, I will keep people updated on their performance.

actually the tractionator enduro sounds pretty good,it said they were at the indy show so i guess they might be available here? i'll try anything once,even the tractionator "i'll be back":cool:
