I got a new DID VM series X ring chain.

Should I get all the packing grease off by cleaning in kerosene or something before installation or just leave it on?

I usually leave it on, but you can wip off excess with a shop towel. I use WD-40 as a post ride afterprep, but these o-ring and x-ring chains are virtually maintenance free. No chain lube for 4 years and counting. WD keeps it much nicer looking.
