Campaign 2004: John Kerry's Vision on Snowmobiling

Posted: 9/4/2004

To help educate the snowmobiling community, please review John Kerry's opinion on snowmobiling. To read his complete vision, please visit his web site at http://www.johnkerry.com/pdf/vision.pdf and review page 8 specifically.

Below is one piece of his vision for the National Parks:

"Honor the Solitude and Beauty of Wilderness Areas and Our National Parks by Keeping Snowmobiles and Jet Skis Out of Yellowstone and Other Sensitive Areas, and by Honestly Addressing Visitor and Wildlife Needs in Our National Parks. John Kerry will reinstate the Clinton administration’s phase-out of noisy and polluting snowmobiles, which have been overrunning some of our most precious national lands, including Yellowstone National Park and Grand Teton National Park. While snowmobiles, jet skis and all terrain vehicles have their place, they do not mix with sensitive wildlife resources and our nation’s most treasured wild places."

THE KERRY-EDWARDS VISION FOR A CLEANER ENVIRONMENT A STRONGER ECONOMY & HEALTHIER COMMUNITIES

If you never see the tree is it there? What are we saving it all for? Not to see it? Another example of worshiping the creation and not the creator!

Mr. Lewis Good to see you are back in town ?

Long time no see! I tried to put your across the desert chase on the Video/picture part of this forum but, it is way to big! (put the small table top stuff there) Even making it as small as I could it was over 6mb. (way to long for dial up users) What did you think of the Dyno page? Have you seen it yet? You need to stop by if you are in the area and go for an evening putt....the closed area (were we rode before) is being riden by us locals again. They gave up watching it. We park at one of the big free stylers house just down the street and it's all ours!

Yea, but if you don't vote for Kerry, his wife is "gona kick his A$$ " for spending all of her " late " husbands money. ? ?

Even more reason not to vote for him. She can make her money back by selling tickets to see him get his rear kicked.

Yes, me being a Gun Toting, Dirt Bike Riding, Superbike Racing, animal killing, redblooded, Bambi eating Texan. I don't care much for this kind of man. Anybody who want's to ban something has a fear of something. The last man who needs to be in power is a person who is afraid. ?

GO "W"

I'm from Memphis, and some of the Ford family (like Herold Ford Jr's) family and other Dem politicians of the city would shuttle people from the "economically-challanged" areas of town and feed them then take them to vote. There were a few churches where the preacher told them to go vote Dem. and being Non-profit organizations they were not supposed to have any ties to either party or they'd loose their non-profit status. Big trouble for a church...but in Memphis nobody is going to complain about it...if the tables were turned you certainly know it would be in every paper and maybe things be done about it.

I voted by absentee ballot b/c I'm in school out of town so aslong as it doesn't get lost or misplaced.

GO "W"

To keep this on topic...it is more then possible that if Senetor John Glenn has a bike it is the XR650R....my thoughts are he likes what is fast! ?

? Like usual most people would just stand by and let hitler or saddom do what ever insted of getting involved. All kinds of lies to change the story.....ya, right we are other there for the oil....but, wait we never took it in 91' or now.... Every Soldier is for the war (there the ones putting it all on the line) but, the libbies are against it. It's all about voting against Bush not for Kerry....Flush the Johns! Both of them! ?

Bravo to John Glenn.........

JOHN GLENN ON THE SENATE FLOOR

Date: Mon, 26 Jan 2004 11:13

Some people still don't understand why military personnel do what they do for a living. This exchange between Senators John Glenn and Senator Howard Metzenbaum is worth reading. Not only is it a pretty impressive impromptu speech, but it's also a good example of one man's explanation of why men and women in the armed services do what they do for a living.

This IS a typical, though sad, example of what some who have never served think of the military.

Senator Metzenbaum to Senator Glenn: "How can you run for Senate when you've never held a real job?"

Senator Glenn: "I served 23 years in the United States Marine Corps. I served through two wars. I flew 149 missions. My plane was hit by anti-aircraft fire on 12 different occasions. I was in the space program.

It wasn't my checkbook, Howard; it was my life on the line. It was not a nine-to-five job, where I took time off to take the daily cash receipts to the bank. I ask you to go with me ... as I went the other day... to a veteran's hospital a nd look those men - with their mangled bodies - in the eye, and tell THEM they didn't hold a job! You go with me to the Space Program at NASA and go, as I have gone, to the widows and orphans of Ed White, Gus Grissom and Roger Chaffee... and you look those kids in the eye and tell them that their DADS didn't hold a job. You go with me on Memorial Day and you stand in Arlington National Cemetery, where I have more friends buried than I'd like to remember, and you watch those waving flags.

You stand there, and you think about this nation, and you tell ME that those people didn't have a job? I'll tell you, Howard Metzenbaum; you should be on your knees every day of your life thanking God that there were some men - SOME MEN - who held REAL jobs. And they required a dedication to a purpose - and a love of country and a dedication to duty - that was more important than life itself. And their self-sacrifice is what made this country possible. I HAVE held a job, Howard! What about you?"

For those who don't remember - During W.W.II, Howard Metzenbaum was an attorney representing the Communist Party in the USA.

Now he is a Senator! Way to go, America ? ?

If you can read this, thank a teacher.... If you are reading it in English thank a Veteran. It might not be a bad idea to keep this circulating 'till November....

I am supprized that it took this long for those that hate Bush to start in.....for awhile there I thought only Republicans rode XR650R's ?? Can't we all get along? ?

This "quote" has been showing up on a lot of boards and I'm still waiting to see the source cited... so where is the article with the quote with actual attribution?

I'm by no means a Kerry supporter, but at the same time, the last thing our cause needs is to be clouded by incorrect information. So... where is it in print? Who was there to record the quote. There are quote marks around it so it I'm assuming it was taken verbatim and not paraphrased. If it was taken, word for word, it would spell doom for us. But like I said, I've seen this so-called quote floating around the net and have yet to see an article attached to it.
