TDC is easy, Manual states to make sure it is in compresion stroke.

How do you tell????? :cry:

If both sets of valves are closed it is compression is it not???...because the next time the piston comes up the exhaust valves will open..hence the exhaust stroke..intake compression power exhaust...repeat...:cry:

Just think of how a 4 stroke works..every OTHER time the spark fires...and between those times the pistoms is coming up to push out the exhaust gasses..so if the valves are allclosed..voila..compression stroke.
