Spark Arrestor for stock pipe.?

Recommended Posts

I need to get a Spark Arrestor for the stock pipe on my 01'YZ426F and I don't know where to get one that will not flatten the wallet. Is there a way to drill the rivots out the endcap and somehow put some Screen in there? How would I attach it also?

You'll have to go with a store bought unit. To be legal it has to have "U.S. Forest Approved" stamped on it. No home brews allowed.

I've got an 02 426 with the PMB endcap and I really like it. You need a rivet gun to install it, but it was pretty easy and the end result looks stock (maybe that's not a good thing?) Anyway, it's worked great for me and I noticed no change in power.

There are no provided screws, only rivets. The only screws that come with it are the 4 that hold the end piece on.

I just got mine about 2 weeks ago...

If you ask, they'll provide screws, or at least they did with mine..

...as did I. When I ordered it from PMB, I asked them to include some screws (and an extra 8), which they did at NO extra cost. Now that's what I call customer service. ?

I did no jetting changes for the spark arrestor, but the other day I had both the spark arrestor and quiet insert in. I think the bike stalled going over a small jump (think, because I cannot remember a thing about the incident!) resulting in me endoing and picking up a nasty concussion. I probably should have adjusted the fuel screw at least to avoid the stall (if thats what happened). ?

I'm new to this forum, but was wondering if you got a spark arrestor for your bike. I have a pro moto billet end cap on a stock 01 YZ 426 muffler. I have installed it right by taping and using screws. I have loved it but I finally broke down and put a new pipe on. I would sell it on the muffler if you'r interested. Let me know what you think it would be worth. You could email me at frankl@natr.com
