That's a hard question! I hope it doesn't alienate anyone!

I've found that younger guys (like when I was young) get intimidated if I tell them my real age if they haven't met me. But the fact is, I'm way immature for my age and usually get along better with those younger than myself.

Most people I know my age (Except for Bill) are starting to get over the hill. I feel like I'm right in the middle of my prime.

So please don't get freaked when I tell you I'm about to turn 40. In fact, I'll do so the week before our TTalk Moab weekend.

A few weeks ago in Steamboat, 25 year old Jason, one of our Colorado riders, told me, 'If you hadn't told me your age, I would have guessed you were 25'. I think he was being a bit generous but at least it made me feel good.

"Old" is a relative term. You're as old as you act!

I'm 37, but my wife sometimes prefers to carry out the more important, intelligent, conversations with my 3 year old daughter. It must be a girl thing because my 5 year old son and I can carry on very interesting conversations ourselves!

You youngsters quit complaining about body pain, you haven't seen the worst of it yet! An elderly lady once told me that growing old was not for the faint of heart. I think this also applies to growing old on a motorcycle.

My 70+ y.o. dad just left for the Dakotas on his BMW with another old 70+ y.o. rider. This other rider has already been to Alaska then to eastern Canada this summer on a KLR 650 (with over 75K on the odometer).

Brian, I'll help you chaperone the kiddies in Moab. Anyone older than 48 going to Moab?

With all my gear on and 426 warmed up I'm just shy of 23.

But when the ride's over and I peel off my gear and hobble over to the couch I'm pushing 33.

I wonder how old I'd be on a 2001 520 E/XC? Too young to buy beer, probably (and too broke to afford any)...

Like several of the other posts here, age is relevant. Have obtained the ripe "old" age of 53, soon to be 54. However, let me clarify. Having never really grown up, I've just ripened.

Presently have 3 bikes, down from seven 2 years ago. Limit my dirt riding now to my 98 WR400F. The best all around dirt bike I've ever owned.

Wife and I ride on the street alot.

Monty, I live in Leavenworth, WA. The great NW. Originally from Southern California, but left in late 1974. Been through Vacaville on numerous occassions.

Do a lot of Dual Sport, in fact almost all my rides are "dual sport". Ride from my house to the two and single track in the USFS lands. Done many west coats rides, some dual sport, some not. LA-B-V, 6 Days of Northern California, etc.

To Rick in Poret Orchard, do you every see the sunshine on thoe trails in your area? hehe

Yes the sun shines every third Tuesday of the week. Actually its been great weather since the begining of summer. I ride at least six days a week,(both street and dirt)and my rain gear hasn't been out in a couple of months.

I'll be 31 next month, the same day I'm getting married. I rode a lot as a kid, took several long years off, now back into riding for the last 3 years. Luckily my body hasn't suffered any injury nor do my joints hurt after riding. I'll save the pain for the muscle cramps and the forthcoming marriage ?

Seriously, you're as old as you feel in most cases. When my uncle was 80, he could kick my 18 year old butt anyday, and I was no weakling!

In any case, I truly believe riding keeps you young, at least mentally.

Funny that a lot of us are older. You young guys sure do have a nice bike!

I am a whole 19! Sometimes feel like 35.

35 years old, have felt the pain since 30. In good shape, but the body does detiorate at 30. Broke my first bone ever at 33, wish I was 25. My knees pop every morning when I go down stairs I have to hold on the hand rail. By 9am no more pain, same routine each morning. Have a wife of 29 ? (no really), keeps me very young until I have to get up in the morning to go downstairs. I think my next house will have those airport walkers to move me along and no upstairs. Live in Roseville just North east of Sacramento. Getting older has it advantages, (forget that no it doesn't)

I'm just about 40 and waiting for that day so I can blame my stable of bikes on being middle-age crazy. ?

the WR is my first true dirt bike. I also have a '94 Yamaha FZR1000, an '89 Honda 605GT (Hawk), a pair of early 80's Honda 900 f's (one stock and one in street-drag trim), a '73 CB350/4. Except for the Stock 900 an the 350/4 all have aftermarket pipes and K&N kits ... great fun.

...and in a few months I can justify them all "damn, guy turned forty and just look!"

As for hurts... well, an ankle that never healed, an a decade worth of scars like crazed on elbows, hips and knees.. my 20's were tough on me

I understand you guys that relate better to you kids than your wife. My wife thinks I'm a kook. My youngest races BMX and we listen to AC/DC, Creed or Red Hot Chili Peppers cranked (300+ watts, two amps, 4- speakers, 8" sub woofer) in my Ram Quad cab to "pump him up".
