I plan on buying, has anyone seen a test? I have a 2001 YZ426 and a 1999 YZ 400 and wanted something that worked better for general off road. Keeping the YZs for MX.

If your not sure wait till 2006. I hear the WR will get Aluminum frames. But other than that I have an 03 and have 1500 miles on it and no problems. The 2005 sits a little lower has a nicer looking pipe, grippy seat, green sticker for Calif instead of red, and I believe the bars are renthals. Good luck!

If that's the case then I would be leary of buying a 06'. It seems anytime they rework a bike the first year has some teething issues that are usually cleared up by the second year. Just take the 03' to 04' for example...how many 03's did we hear or read about with starter problems versus's the 04's which have been pretty much problem free. I bought and 04' for just this reason and to date I have had about 3000 trouble free miles.

I have an 03 and I have had almost no problems. I love it. If the 06 has an aluminum frame, I'll be buying one of the first ones off the floor!!!

I'm considering buying an 05. They will probably have a good price on them right after the 06 model comes out, if it does get an aluminum frame. I'm wondering if the suspension changes work well and how easy it is to change the CA carb to be like the other 49 states. Anyone know what weight of rider the stock suspension is setup for.
