Hi all
I recently blew a fork seal and i have decided to pull the forks down completly to clean them out. I noticed that the bushes on both of the damping tubes did not have any coating on it like the rest of them.. i have included a photo so could somebody please tell me if it is ment to be like this?

Hmmmm. I just don't remember for sure if that ring is coated or not. The teflon is quite durable so if both bushings are the same and show no evidence of coating, I would say they are not coated. The ring is used as a seal ring and not load bearing so it probably is not coated.

The Manual is pretty specific about which bits are antifriction metal , Teflon
And this isn’t one of them.

Looks just dandy to me ,
