About to spend $$$$$$$$$$$ getting my bike 03 `S` from a blue 03 `S` to a black (maybe yellow, not 100% sure yet) SM, as soon as the TT store can help out! Anyway, my question is, after 3x3, dyno kit, and a full yosh system, what gearing should I have on a SM to gain a bit more top end/cruise speed but not loose that low end wheelie off the throttle in 1st and 2nd and simple clutch up in 3rd?? I`m hoping that the extra power of the mods will help me go smaller at the rear and not loose that low end ooomph I have as std.
SM gearing question

I've got 15/41 on my E with the 3x3, full yoshi and reasonably good jetting. The bike still rips in the lower gears and cruises on the hwy at 100-110kph allright. I'm no mono king myself but it'll do it off the throttle in first without meaning, and I reckon you could coax it in the rest no probs

since the 17 inch wheel is shorter,it lowers the gearing.in order to compensate you need a smaller rear sprocket.
however, when was riding street sm i prefered 15/44 in town.but if you do any highway riding 15/41 is a must.some even got to 15/38 or 39.

OK so with all the mods I`ve listed would a 39/39 fell crap down low?? Would I loose that wheelie in 1st and 2nd off the throttle and easy clutch in 3rd???

Once I did the 17's, I went to 15/42.
I think that it is still too revvy for my highway use.
I guess it depends where you live?
For me to get to the good 2nd/3rd/4th gear backroads, I need to ride 20-40 miles of 70-80 mph highways.
With the 15/42, I'm revving pretty high at those speeds.
(Even though from what people here say, the DRZ can rev high like that all day long.)
I think I'm gonna try 39 or 40 next, heyyy why not
since rear sprockets are soooo cheap. What's 50 bucks? No biggie
Dammit

imho if your into wheelies,15/44 is good.but it will be way revvy on the highway.
