midvalve or seal head leaking?

Guys,
This past weekend I was riding a track with a lot of 3-4 foot
drop offs. The front end was bottoming really hard. I tried
to increase the compression but the ride was horribly stiff
in the braking bumps. Even when I max'ed the compression,
I was still bottoming on the drops. I heard that a blown
midvalve or leaky seal head could cause this. I tore the
forks apart last night. How can I check the midvalve and
seal head?

Thanks for your help in advance
Shaun
