The old XR650L is a old and trusted ride. Has anyone heard of a new replacement based on the XR650R with an electric start?

Well...with the continued production of the L and not the R...Looks like they intend the L to be the replacement for the R.

7 year old thread basically asking "what the heck is wrong with Honda?", and still no hints that they're finally going to do something.

They already did something. The 450X. You know, the King of Baja! (whatever).

They took the XR650R motor and punched it out to 700cc's, added E start and put it in a Quad!
