yes, 99% of what is in the 250F FAQ is directly applicable to the YZF/WRF 400/426/450 as well.

since you seem new to the yamaha four strokes, here are some things that i'd read up on ASAP:

PDF versions of the owners manuals:
http://www.thumperfa.../oemmanuals.htm

must-do tweaks:
http://www.thumperfa...hain_slider.htm
http://www.thumperfaq.com/ap.htm
http://www.thumperfaq.com/ap_mods.htm
http://www.thumperfa.../autodecomp.htm

basic maintenance:
http://www.thumperfa.../oil_change.htm
http://www.thumperfaq.com/jetting.htm
http://www.thumperfa.../clean_carb.htm
http://www.thumperfa.../fork_seals.htm

greasing stuff up:
http://www.thumperfaq.com/swingarm.htm
http://www.thumperfaq.com/steering.htm
http://www.thumperfa...el_bearings.htm

and very important, checking valve clearances:
