I picked up some white lithium grease in a can for my clutch cable, anyone try this stuff? Does it gunk or trash the cable. They say its great for brake cables and metal on plastic friction.

I use Silkolene lithium soap based grease as a general purpose lubricant - ends of cables, axles, bearings, etc. Don't know if it's the same as the stuff you picked up.

I use lithium grease only on the cable tips and on the portion of the throttle cables that wrap around the throttle slide. Other than that I use a cable lube and luber to clean and protect my cables.

Don't know if this helped, probably not...
