2005 YZ450F and YZ250F will have an aluminum frame. The sales guy down at DelAmo sports assures me this to be true. I told him I thought that was only for the 125 and 250. Being as he was the sales guy and should know more than me just the lowly consumer I did not argue it with him. I am just stoked to get a new 450 with an aluminum frame before anyone else. I'll be sure to post my first report when I take delivery and of course pics will follow.

Good luck...hope it pans out for you.

I think you have misinformation though.

It would be a bone head move on Yamaha's part not to disclose this info upfront. I am sure there are guys not buy a Yamaha right now (me) waiting on the 06'.

Hope the sales guys at Del Amo are more knowledgeable than the parts guys.

There is definately some wrong information there. They will not be aluminum frames.

Yeah, that was supposed to be a sarcastic post. Since Yamaha and all the mags have said no AL frames for the 4 strokes in 05.

Quoting:Although it still suffers slightly from a steel frame and the inherent handling issues that come along with it, Yamaha really did do their homework and answer the call of consumers who demanded a more rideable bike.

Still being sarcastic. My point was that the sales guy is an idiot. I've been reading TT for 2yrs now. I think anyone who has some sort of clue knows that the 450 DO NOT have an AL frame for 05.

Forks, swingarm, rear linkage, shock, lots of internal engine mods, new front brake routing, new front brake guards.

That sums it up quickly.
