I figured it was mistaken identity ? I was thinking he raced an XR250R by mistake but the 650L would be just about as slow :D Man those bikes suck almost as much as the KTM's :awww: I do think Chopjaw has some big ones comming into our turf and dissing our bikes, reminds me of something I would do ? Keep on smoking those Hondas Chopjaw

.....if coming into the forum just for ribbing, cool, come with it. Come with some facts, come with some numbers. Don't come in here talking out the side of your face. Sure there is Honda pride here my man, but damn, no one said our bikes can't be beat by a KTM. In certain situations, a certain KTM would be the bike of choice, maybe. But to come in here talking about your heavy ass junkyard wars (parts bin) KTM smoking a uncorked XR650 with $2k worth of uncorking, c'mon already.

Either your bored, uninformed or just ignorant. Either way, go back to the pumpkin patch and learn something.

Hey Mike,

Thanks for the backup. They are not bringing any more SXC's into the country because for the Eruo to Dollar conversion. I was told that they are loosing ± 1,800 to 2,000 dollars per bike at the border. The 640 and 625 are really big in Europe. They run those bikes on the Motard circuit. I can see why they lose money. With all of the aftermarket parts that come on the bike it is amazing. That was one of the major reasons I didnt get a Honda 650R. Also, if you put both bikes together the (IMHO) KTM is WAY better looking (Can you hear the can opening). As far as bikes, I was going to get a Honda. I rode one, did all of the research and decided to get one. So I went to the Honda dealership and they were waiting on the truck to come in. I drove by the KTM dealership here in Vegas to stopped in to take a look. That is when I saw the KTM 625. I knew it was the one. As far as the Honda, I just came here to stir the pot, by the looks of it. I GOT IT. The honda is a great bike. You cant argue against it. I think that havent changed that bike in like 10yrs???? SO, all of you that came back to me with such venom (BIG T,BWB63,PIN-N-CR5HUNDY,WIKEDSPRINT,NARU,JET PILOT), Learn how to take a little ribbing. To all of you that are cool, Have happy trails and fun rides... ?

Chopjaw, I was just "ribbing" back. You came in here talking smack. It's all good.

You are right the XR650L and XR600 are about the same bike except the 'E' start, cush in the rear hub, CV caruretor. My XR600 at 620cc, wisco 12:1, cam, ported, TM38 mikuni and put out 48 Horse power to the ground. It was heavy! But, fast for the time. I got hurt on that bike more then all the rest put together. It was just to heavy for how fast it was. It was like a mig 25 fast but, don't try to turn to sharp ? I don't think anyone on a slightly modified XR650L would get close to it. If you did the same to a XR650L (I'll never go higher the 11:1 compression again....what a pain) with a better carburetor it would be fast and would be about the same thing as the KTM 625 sxc without all the vibration.:awww:?

  • 2 weeks later...

I just wanted to stop by today and say HOW happy I am for NOT buying a Honda 650R. Instead I bought a KTM 625 SXC. The reason I say this is, I was out today and this guy riding a 650 pulled up beside me on a trail (2track) and wanted to race. So naturally I gave in to his wishes. We started off almost neck-in-neck 1st-2nd gear. That is when the KTM really showes off it's better HP. I roosted that guy all day. He was really impressed on how I could have a almost stock bike and he spent almost $2000 "uncorking" (to use a phrase of you honda owners) his bike and STILL he could not even keep up with the ol' KTM. So I just wanted to extend my thanks for buying up all of the 650's so I could get a KTM. ?

Well boys, I was out riding yesterday and ran into the same guy on the 650R. We stopped and talked abit. Turns out that he can ride pretty good. We switched bikes for a bit and ran up the road for 2mi then onto a fairly tight track. GUESS WHAT??? He out rode me. On the main (dirt) road, he was infront, on the trail he was in front. NOW I know that all of you have to defend your Red Pig. But when the honda get's beaten 2times. I DONT CALL THAT A FLUKE!! The other guy's thoughts was "WOW that is a really good riding bike, I like it on the tight stuff better than mine". We also jammed all day together. He is on this site and wont come out and tell you what he told me for fear of what you idiots will say. So MJ, when you read this, how about some backup?????

Thought on the BRP. Not a bad bike. Power is the same between the 2. Tourque is almost the same. I'd have to say that the honda has more top end around 95 to 105. The feel for the bike is way diff between the 2. I do like my KTM better probbly because I'm used to riding it.

Just though I would drop by and stir up the hornet's nest....
