Edit: Forgot to add........ I entered and FINISHED my first Hare Scramble last month. I beat out two others because they quit. I was the slowest guy there but I refused to give up. Hardest 2 1/2 hours ever. But, man, was it rewarding!![/QUOTE]

Good for you !   "You can't finish first if at first you don't finish"

First time I ever watched the movie!  Turned the KDX over to my 14 year old son to start getting use to.  He's very smart rider.  Ended up finding an incredible deal on a KTM400 EXC.  Nice to be truly street legal again to connect the trails.  Good friend of mine took me to a local MX track.  Really great way to learn about your bike quickly.  Very cool sailing through the air for what seems an infinite amount of time!  Great confidence builder.  Though very different from woods riding I'd recommend it.  KTM did very well on it.  Not sure I'd make a habit of taking this bike to the tracks but it was great to have every obstacle put in front of me within a mile long track.  Very...very tiring.  Probably soften up the KTM's suspension and return to the woods with new inspiration and experience.

We start riding in the snow up in New England.  Any suggestion for riding techniques?  Obviously, have already put on the studded tires.  Any other suggestions?  Trail riding..single track with some dirt roads.

I have actually raced in Snow a couple times. Near Atlanta back in 1983 and last year in Meridian Ms.   Different for sure.  I did OK only because everyone else was unexperianced snow riders also.
