Frustrated with this Rekluse install

Recommended Posts

I'm getting pissed off with this Rekluse install. It is not working and I have been told to remove the '03 clutch mod. That would be great except that now one of the M3 Torx Head screws is stripped in the top plate and refuses to budge. I'm somewhat nervous about drilling this thing out because I don't want shavings flying around my open clutch. However, these shavings might just be right at home with the shavings from my clutch case cover that this Rekluse has dug (My instructions didn't mention 3 gaskets and I only got 2). Even if I can get this thing out, I've been everywhere around here to see if they have a replacement screw, but in Canada it appears that a 5/16th M3 is pretty much non-existent. AAARRRRRRRGGGGGHHHHHHH!!! Did I mention that I was frustrated?

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated before the top and pressure plates become frisbees.

Thanking you in advance,

try some of the auto stores, they may have the screw you need. I get alot of the metric I need from Kragon Auto or PepBoys

Since you in Canada, not sure what you got maybe a Pepe'Francious Boys

Jok ejust trying to lighten it up for you..

Maybe it is best to just walk away for a few and think it over, take a drive and find the screws ya need.... ?

As far as backing it out what stripped the Head or the threads

I finally got the screw out. Now,I have basically removed everything from the clutch so that I can start over again. However, when I had done the '03 mod, I had replaced the clutch actuator arm with one from a WR. Now when I try to put the original actuator arm back it won't go down all the way. It sticks up about 1/4" too high. Does anyone know what could be wrong now?

Thanking you in advance,

It was catching the push rod. But now I have run into more issues. Apparently, the count on the shims was wrong originally. My buddy had been reading out the directions the first time I tried to install this and said to install "6" shims on each post. Now after going through the directions myself I see that it should be "9" shims. I was not shipped enough shims to put 9 on each post. I could manage 8. Will this make a big difference?

Thanking you in advance,

(I know I'm being a huge pain in a$$)

Bofo

Call 1-208-426-0659 and tell Rekluse you need some spare parts. They WILL take care of you. Great support.

Good Luck!

Yup Ditto to that

You need ti install it per the instructions. 8 may work do not hold me to it, if it says 9 start there

And call support to get the parts ?

Actually I've had good luck with Canadian Tire. It seems kinda funny but they actually have an incredible selection of screws, nuts, bolts etc. Atleast out in my area. Give them a try, you might be surprised, I sure was.
