The 10th digit should be a letter, not a number. The year is designated by the 10th digit of the vin. Your local dealer should know and if you can't or won't ask them email me at goodthing01@hotmail.com and I have a list of the corresponding letters with the years.

On the bill of sale, the 10th is a number, the number 1, but I will double check the bike to make sure that that is correct. Thanks for the info.
