DOT certified gas tank for the BRPL

I was wondering what I can use for a larger tank that is DOT acceptable? :thumbsup:

metal gas tanks are only required by manufacturers, you can run plastic.

I switched to a plastic tank as soon as I bought my L and I just had it inspected and they didnt say a word about it. :thumbsup:

metal gas tanks are only required by manufacturers, you can run plastic.


aprilla streetbikes all have plastic/fiberglass gastanks, so i wouldbnt say metal is "reqire" by manufacturers

But do those bikes with plastic tanks have the tank enclosed?
I've heard of guys on the trail out west getting tickets for non-metal tanks!

You aren't required to have a DOT approved anything except tires and possibly lights.
