movie/vid: R1 vs WR450

this vid is 6:00, 45mb, divx{4.02}. {rated 18+} This ride was suspension vs HP. Nothing too impressive, just a Sunday ride on tape . the R1 is a 1999 with lots oh chassis mods and a nicely built 01 motor. my wr450 is opened up at both ends, jetted, yz cam, 14/43 street gearing and slicks.

Cool video. Nice wheelies. I need to get some of my buddy on his XR650R. He can ride them a good mile or so and it's so damned cool when he sets down and white smoke pours off the front wheel. ?

That road looks sweet for a motard but I'd be hating life riding a sport bike on that stuff. Looks bumpy as hell and in bad shape.

Clean up that corner sand and the guy on the R1 might start shifting

Were you guys actually racing each other?

If so, that guy drives that R1 like an old lady. Sorry but there's just no way that R1 wouldn't dust you if he was trying. Those things will run 0-100 in about 5 seconds.

I just sold an FZ1 which is a little slower than an R1, but the pull through about 130 is amazing even on that.

It would be hard to believe a 47 rwhp bike would outgun a 130+ rwhp bike.

I think it's just the road. Did you see the helmet cam bouncing around? I wouldn't rail a sport bike through there. We have a road like that near me and I've always thought it would be awesome to hammer a motard through there.

again, NOT racing. just riding. and sorry, but there is no way a sport bike is going to do 130 around steep gravel covered corner with large dips, cracks, and pot holes.

come and scope the road if you wish. on the sweeping {newly paved sections} i would have been waxed if it was a race. but its the street man. there are lots of trees, ditches, cliffs and no ambulances. ?

Thanks Man, ? I got it to work. Cool vid. I have an R1 and have just bought a WR400 and have fitted some supermoto wheels on this evening. I'll post some pics soon.
