I have a 99yz 400 that is new to me and uses a little oil. I have a aftermarket gaurd on the bottom and there is some oil coming from the crankcase vent tube onto the gaurd. What would this mean to me??

All the YZ400/426's puke a little oil out of the breather, particularly after a good hard ride. It's nothing out of the ordinary. It will most likely be milky looking aerated oil, right? Don't worry, it's normal. To put your mind at rest, just make sure your engine oil is at the correct level before you ride, but the amount of oil leaking out of your breather will hardly affect the oil level.
