I'm so torqued off right now, I'm ready to box! The head guy at California Wilderness Coalition told me a few weeks ago that his organization supports off-road activities. YOU tell ME if they are looking for a solution:
http://ens.lycos.com...L-03-09-06.html
Between you and me, This guy is a lying sack of s#@t and isn't any different than any of the other liars that call themselves environmentalists. That's it. This is WAR!!!!!!
AND THE BEST PART: THIS GUY IS ON OUR CALIFORNIA OHV COMMISSION. APPOINTED BY SEN JOHN BURTON. Remember that at election time.

I think the world has bigger problems than a bunch of people trying to have fun.

I wonder how long they had to search to find those few photos they used. Those photos are obviously the exception and not the rule.

I wonder if these dweebs ever thought that since they keep shutting areas off that the areas that are still open are going to see a more concentrated use???

Devote some time and/or money to your favorite off-road advocacy group. These enviros are spending millions to convince the rest of the public to lock us out.
This guy's name is Paul Spitler. Write your State Senator in Calif and let them know what you think of this guy being on the OHV Commission. Come to think of it, write Gray Davis as well.

No offense guys, but they know EXACTLY that point. They'll come back to the "overused" areas in about a year and use the same argument to close down the remaining area.

They don't care about logic.
They will lie, cheat, steal and fabricate "facts"

Do not expect rational arguments to work. Period.

Ive said it before and Ill say it again, its not about the saving the land, its about outlawing off roading in general. Since there is a real chance of complete iradication of the activity, this is a prelude to a huge tax grab. Mark my words. Better yet, Call your congressmen and women and tell them that if the continue appointing Nazi liars to these position, they'll be out of a job.

Shawn it is a conspiracy and they want to get YOU! What I read in that article looked relatively justified. Which picture looked unfair? The little mazes through a very slow to heal habitat. Is there any thought to building trails there? Are motorcyclists considerate to the hikers and equestrians? Or do they try to teach those Eco-Nazi's a lesson? Once again I enjoy both sports. However I do see on many occasions mostly young punk kids abusing the trails and patience of more civilized beings. I hope it works out for all of us. Good Luck in getting what you want. I hope you are a member of some advocacy group to help in your quest. :)

Fastest and others,
Some of the photos in the article are from 1972! They can't find enough recent issues to deal with, so they keep dredging up old issues that have been solved or dealt with in some other way.
Many of the issues are outright lies or gross exaggerations.
And they make a strong implication that this is the normal course of events.
They are lying, pure and simple, to attempt to influence public opinion.
IF THIS PISSES YOU OFF, PLEASE CHANNEL YOUR ENERGY IN A CONSTRUCTIVE DIRECTION. BEFORE YOU ACT, ASK YOURSELF IF IT WILL BENEFIT OUR CAUSE OR DAMAGE OUR IMAGE IN THE EYES OF THE PUBLIC. JOIN THE FIGHT TO KEEP OUR LANDS OPEN, BUT DO IT THE RIGHT WAY, PEACEFULLY AND POLITICALLY.
Thanks for listening,
Dan

Dan I agree with a peaceful solution, but the enemy isnt peaceful. They are setting traps to kill us. This is never exposed and wont be. I have a huge problem with people that want to kill me because I want to get away and not bother anybody, and ride my bike. The way I see it, these bastards are following not only myself, but all of us, out of our homes and clear out into the desert, simply to prevent us from enjoying ourselves in our chosen manner. If I caught someone setting a trap, woe is that group or person.

I live in Oregon and I have been riding in places I am not suppose to since I was a little kid. I am not in jail yet. I could care less if someone posts a sighn that says no motorized vehicles, if it' s up in the mountains in the middle of nowhere, I am going to ride there.
