I AM LOOKING INTO BUYING EITHER A YZ OR WR400 BUT I DONT KNOW HOW MUCH DIFFERENT THEY ARE I KNOW ABOUT THE ENGINE DIFFERENCES AND THE TROTTLE STOP, BUT I DONT KNOW HOW THE POWER IS COMPARED TO THE YZ400. I STILL WANT A BIKE THAT EXCELERATS GOOD I HAVE A 99' YZ125 (TRYING TO GET RIDE OF). I WANT TO KNOW IF THE EXCELERATION IS CLOSE TO THE YZ400 OR IF IT IS SO DIFFERENT ANYONE CAN NOTICE IT. MY BUDDIES ALL RIDE 250'S AND WANT TO KNOW HOW THE WR VERSION WILL DO WITH THEM.:)

Powerwise both the WR and YZ are superior to the 2-strokes. Not more of it, just over a larger power curve. The big difference is the tranny- the WR can crawl around better (lower gearing) yet 5th gear allows for more speed.. Next are lights and kickstand. Muffler, minor carb settings, suspension is much stiffer on te YZ.
