blowing blue smoke

i have a 99 400 and all of a sudden it just started blowing blue smoke when ever i start it and keeps it up for like a minuite or two. im pretty sure that my valve guides are worn but i dunno. any suggestions?

MOST OF THE TIME if it smokes only for a short time after idling or backing off the throttle then it's likely the valve guides/seals. If it smokes all of the time then its more likely the rings. If the bike has lots of hours then it's likely all of the above. If it started suddenly and smokes quite a lot then you may have broken a ring.

yeah its just when it starts or idles for awhile. i think ill take it to the shop pretty soon.
