That looks like fun!! Where is it? The other forum seems like they have Honda envy. They don't list the R or L 650's on their adveture bikes page :awww: But they praise the KLR and BMWs like they're the second coming ? I read your log and you didn't mention any other bikes but they bash you for it? Doensn't seem like they would be happy with anyone not on one of their bikes! &%$#@!? Glad I don't frequent that site and now I know to stay away from it. Great pics!! Ride hard!!

I should have saved it before I changed it, but essentially there were many comments warning GS and KLR riders not to read this b/c it would make them jealous and how many of the jumps would crack a KLR like a crab claw and how I think it's funny to watch people manuvering a 1000lb bike just to be able to say they drive a BMW and how niether bike would see the view I reach unless it was flown it by a helicopter, etc.

I just get sick of the GS circle jerk going on over there when those bikes are a joke off-road.

cool pics? where are they from?

i didnt get to see the original post on http://www.advrider.com ? maybe you could post it here ??

Salt Lick, KY. Right at an hour East of Lexington. For the record, there was a lot of anti-KLR/GS material in my post, just b/c I'm sick of the GS circle-jerking on that site...

Looks like fun but, never put people down because they are doing what they love on what they love! Just have a good time and enjoy yourself. If you go faster, good for you, if not, you had a good time. I'd race but, I'm too slow.

I agree you should never put people down. Live and let live. Give Peace a chance. Ride, Slide and glide. Rock and Roll, Lock and Load and away we go.

Oh, yeah and you are faster than me but my bikes better than yours, hands down. oops did I say that? Naaaa, the Devil made me do it. ?:awww:???

I agreee with the other comments. It doesn't matter what you ride, it only matters that you ride. The motorcycle community is not unified. Strong biases are very prevalent. Just let your stories and the photos speak for themselves. Good ones, by the way.

Those comments from the "other" forum are from the bed & breakfast, wine tasting wanna be crowd. If you could see what tires they're using on any of those bikes you'd know how "serious" they are about off-roading.

Most people you meet on Dual Sport rides or out riding off-road are good folks, no matter what they're riding. They are out there for the same reasons as you are. They are enthusiasts. That's the common ground. That's what really matters.

Fstrnu kind of got slammed pretty hard over there because he was a relative noobie to the site and also cause he was putting down the Big GS and the KLR pretty hard. I have had a few real dirt bikes and that includes a 125 suzuk, KDX220, xr400 etc... I have also recently had KLR, and I still own both a GS1150 and xr650r. They are all different and there was or is something about each bike that made it special for at least one application. KDX was superb in the tight twisty muddy single track, suzuk125 for playing in the pits, Big GS for travel to Mex, labrador, alaska or anywhere there is some semblance or a road. But if I could only have one bike to do adventure travel with, to any part of the globe, it would be the KLR. Having said that tho, the xr650r is probably the most fun. And that's all I have to say about that!!!! ?

Now we have politicaly correct if you want to ride a dirt bike or be on a group. Keep it quite, don't mess up the dirt and don't knock another bike! Let's all get along! What if someone just dosn't want to get along? Or what if someone is just plain wrong? Don't say anything that might offend that person better to be kind (and leave him thinking he is right) then to hurt his fealings. I am wrong all the time and I am glad when I get slammed for it...I just might learn something someday? I am sure with how and what I ride I wouldn't last long on a KLR650 group! I would get slammed all the time. :awww: It's nice that some just want to dual sport and some want to race or scratch the floor of heaven. (it is best if you talk to heaven on your knees before you get there the hard way) Hey, if someone can ride better then me he can knock me all he wants....maybe it will push me to be better ? or I can learn what can make it more fun or what works best. You have to be nice everywhere now a days ?...lets not ruin it here? There was a good yelling, name calling all out hair raising mess a few months ago here something about WR426 or YZF450 and the BRP (with 710cc kit) https://www.thumpertalk.com/forum/showflat.php/Cat/0/Number/760292/page//view//sb/5/o//fpart/1/vc/1

...it was alot of fun everone got a big laugh out of it (at least I did) and if all you own is a XR50 and you want to talk to a bunch of Baja racers or ride with them and you are happy with what you got, more power to you but, you should smile when they let loose on you? I am glad to ride with anyone and get smoked from time to time. My BRP gets fun poked at it from time to time from the CRF450 guys and I can dish it out when they finaly catch up out on the trail  My point.....don't be so thin skinned?

Sharing it, or stirring it up with others you don't even know, even better. ?

I just went back to the website where fstrnu was (is) getting blasted. I reread his ride report and the all the replies. Funny as h_ll! It's obvious he wanted to stir the sh_t up over there! :awww: Those guys are lost. I see what you mean about being "thin skinned."

Sorry for the “cum bi ya” post earlier!!! Blast somebody for being wrong, all day long!!! Being stupid, both barrels!!! Riding a bike they like? Nahhh. You don’t pick at what people do for living, if they married a cow or if they ride a pig on the trails. Some things are just off limits.

Well I'll leave your bike alone....mine you can poke fun at all you want?....If you live close we can ride and show me what a dog it is!? It's all in fun someone said, just don't call my third son ugly? There are things that are off limits but, my bike is not one of them...God can take care of Himself but, I sure do love Him, ? My wife is awesome and you would be looking for a fight?, my three boy'z if they can't handle it I'll step in, my job few can do it, this Country is worth fighting for :usa:....my house, guns, cars, truck and bike no big deal there to low on the list ? I guess it's more what I can do with them that matter? If I were to jump out of a plane I sure would want you to tell me what the best pack was and to rag on mine if it could be better...sure wouldn't hurt my feelings  and making fun of me if I was doing it wrong...all the better :awww:

Ok you're right the L rules!! LOL I do go out to jump at Perris Valley every now and then. I can even show you that even an R can be a dog given the proper rider (amazing R or L, I allways go about the same speed).

Maybe you didn't see the original post. Fstrnu edited it real quick. "Thin Skinned"???? Spend a day or two in JoMomma over on that site. If you are "thin skinned", you sure won't last there.?

Plain and simple - whether it's here or there, fstrnu is just a troll.

Whether it be a XR (my last bike), a DRZ (my current bike) or a GS (my current bike) - it's all about the ride. It's pretty clear almost everybody at both sites gets it. ?

Someone on AdvRider has invited FSTRNU to come to the rally at Ouray Colorado July 23-25 to see if he really is FSTRNEM.

I hope he can make it out from Kentucky to test his and his bike's capabilities against the GSs and KLRs, etc. in the Rockies.

I'll be there,

Superannuated
