Fixed mine but you need to get ahold of a very good tig welder who knows stainless.
I mad out of stainless steel a small coupler 1 1/2 in long dialinter to slide over the exiting pipe. I know a good wleder who tigged the coupler onto the Muffler/arrester. Just slide it on hose clamp and spings no more rattle
I can send a really crappy drawing if you like

Never never wled a part on a bike, I can see it now your out in the desseart and your bike needs to be started you reach for the K.S. and give on good boot, it snaps driving the blunt edge right into you boot and ankle, your bleeding profusly and can not get it to stop, ya pack sand, your shirt a dead rabbit into the gapping hole

Topic: Straightening front forks
posted May 31, 2002 05:51 AM
Agree with thumpy but let me add
if the forks are bent or the crash was serious enough to suggest the tubes are tweaked. Reseting the forks is not the answer. To be safe you should pull the tubes off and take them down to a machine shop and have them measured looked at. A few CM or mm's can cause the forks to bind making for a real harsh ride.
Anyway thats my $4.26 worth Safty First

Topic: No compression problem! HELP!
posted May 28, 2002 06:48 AM
I had the same issue, I found it to be the routing of the decomp cable, seems the guy before me when he replaced the top tripple with a set of applied and protapers, he placed the decomp on the wrong side of the clutch
When the bars were turned to the left the decomp engaged slitly just enough to open it up.
Not sure if thats your case. Though there has been posts with the same problem, dont know the outcome there do a search though may come with something.

Topic: welders
posted March 22, 2002 07:01 AM
For starters: Do you have any experiance in Welding ?
If No
then start with a class at the nearest Vocational center, this will introduce you to some basics in Welding metalergy and fundamentals. Plus it dont look so bad on the resume if you decide to start looking for a job in the field. You will really need to start with MIG and TIG welding arc is an art Mig * Tig will help you with hand control and spacing the beads. Arc is abeast all to its own. Specializing in aluminum and other alloys is a good thing. Once ya learn the basic try and get a job with some older welders and learn from them.
PS: No any of the Home Dumpo, Sears or welder you pay less then 500 bucks for is worth PooPoo

The fun side of the Ego, as we all knew him!!

Topic: Forearm Pump
posted March 31, 2002 06:38 AM
Hey jdyfletch
forearm pump is caused by a few things:
1: Holding on for dear life (I.E. Handle Bar Grip)
2: Upper Arm Strenght (elbow up)
3: Lower Arm Stringht (elbow down)
4: Susepsion
5: Dehydration
All 4 factors can have termendous effects, Here is what I did to train.
1: Slow down
2: Get a girl friend with Big Hooters
3: Dial the suspension in
4: Drink alot of beer ?

Appology excepted
First things first, the personal attacks are true, I placed them in a Quote PM Unquote
I will stand by my positision that I have never attacked first in this PUBLIC Forum.
I challenged this person to find any post of mine that I started the attack, in regards to name calling or out in out hostility.
My posts are sarcastic at best and make fun of nothing more then being the silliness of ones question.
I have never stated in a post (Well Except for the Poor misguided ignorant beep) remark with ShawnMC for which I did step out of bounds.
I can take it as well the sarcasim but not hostil attacks or name calling.
I appologies also to the masses but not to the attacks to yznvegas.
Son let me tell you ignorance is bliss, re-read the starting of the posts, you will find the nature of my PM's to you.
Out side of that I remain the same nothing more nothing less
I will respond no more to yznvegas
truce

That which we didn't believe, but showing that the great EgoAHole is human, and has his faults and concience to help him in this life.

Shawn I swear you starting to like me
Also, this is a good place for info also a bad place for info, just like any info you need to take with a grain of salt and listen for feedback.
TT is a talk board nothing more nothig less, Some of us "Shawn" take it way to seriuos.
Sometimes we really ned to just step back and see what we are really intending TT to be. Yes WE, We make TT what it is. I agree that the flames should stop (EGO) and the Uncontrolled outbursts also (EGO) so I think I have slowed down quit a bit.
But Its still fun and still informative Even Ducmans MX Socks Question.
Be Safe Be fun and by all means Take a break when it seams to seriuos its only a Talk Board

Topic: Something I must Do
posted June 10, 2002 06:58 AM
Hey all, I normally try to keep things professional here
Nah but this is very close to my heart.
I just want to encourage everyone to help in anyway for cancer research. My mom passed away Dec 21st 1998 from pancreatic cancer, since then I have been somewhat involved in my local chapter and support groups.
This weekend I ran into some old friends of my daughters in San Jose, This little girl age 12 has been fighting Leukemia for a couple of years now. Even Though she is not out of the woods yet, prognosis is good. She is getting treatment at Stanford U, one of the best places to be for Cancer Research.
But here is the issue, treatment is expensive, some families have limited means and Stanford does not turn people away becouse of that. It takes people like you and I to help. Buy donating time, money, clothes, Wigs (Yes Wigs) all this helps with offsetting the cost of treatments and supplies.
Something I would love to do in the future is start a yearly enduro or mx benefit for the local chapter, I dunno.
Well sorry for being smoofy but hey it is another side of the Ego, again any donation to your local chapters is a good thing, Here is a link for additiona info in your areas
http://www.aaci-cancer.org/dlist.htm

I for one, can only hope Ego himself reads this, and decides that we as TTalkers need him as HIMSELF in our online community for bashing, laughter, anger, and good information!
